UK-licensed casinos, compared on how their welcomes actually work

Five operators sit on this page. The scores follow the same eight checks every time, with extra weight on bonus type and the wagering that comes with it. If a sentence on an operator’s promotion page would change how you opt in, it belongs in the comparison.

Reel Borough House is an independent, affiliate-funded comparison site. We do not operate a casino, we do not hold player accounts, and we are not a party to any wager. Commercial relationships can affect the order of cards; they do not invent a licence or a wagering figure.

The useful question is rarely “how large is the headline”. It is whether the welcome is a free-spin credit with no playthrough on winnings, a deposit match with a stated multiple, or a sports-led path that locks out the casino offer. That is the spine of this review.

Quick answer

If you read one block: confirm the UKGC register yourself, then read wagering and expiry before you opt in. On the current published terms we reviewed, Casushi’s welcome spins carry no wagering on spin winnings — the clearest of the five on that single point. Happy Tiger is the one to study if you actually play bingo, because its 5× bingo / 10× slots split is written in the open. Hollywoodbets and QuinnBet ask you to pick a sports path or a casino path; the first qualifying stake usually spends that choice.

How we compare operators

Eight checks, with wagering given extra weight

Each score out of 10 is an editorial mark, not a regulator rating. We look at UKGC licensing (authority, licensed domain, licensee name and account number when those sit on the public register), game range, live casino, mobile or app, the studios that actually appear in the lobby, welcome-offer type, customer support routes, and how usable the site is for a first session.

Because this page’s angle is bonus structure, a site that publishes a short, specific welcome — expiry, contribution, whether spins land as cash — is marked higher on that criterion than a site whose offer is split across sports and casino with more conditions to hold in your head. A high mark is not a prediction of winnings.

We are funded by affiliate commissions when a reader chooses to visit an operator. That commercial fact can influence which brand is featured or how cards are ordered. It does not change a licence number, a wagering multiple, or whether live casino is present.

Terms used in this comparison

A short glossary before the numbers

  • Wagering (playthrough). The multiple of bonus funds — and sometimes the deposit — that must be staked on qualifying games before withdrawal of those funds or related winnings.
  • Contribution. How much a game type counts toward that multiple. Slots often count fully; live roulette may count a sliver, or nothing.
  • Free spins. A set number of rounds on a named slot. Winnings may be cash, or they may become bonus funds with their own wagering.
  • Opt-in. A box or toggle at registration. Miss it, and the published welcome usually will not apply later.
  • UKGC. The Gambling Commission of Great Britain. A remote casino licence is what authorises a site to offer casino games to customers in Great Britain.
  • Licensed domain. The exact web address on the Commission register. Bookmarks to lookalikes are a common way people leave the licensed site.
  • GAMSTOP. The national self-exclusion scheme covering UK-licensed remote operators. It is separate from an operator’s own time-out tools.
  • One welcome. Many groups allow a single new-customer offer across sister brands. Hollywoodbets and QuinnBet also split sports versus casino.

A fuller walk-through of wagering, expiry and contribution sits on the bonus terms page.

Happy Tiger

Happy Tiger

CEGO’s UK brand does not rent a white-label slots mall. Bingo rooms and slots are built in-house in Aalborg, stakes start low, and there is no live dealer pit to browse. Happytiger ApS publishes a deposit-match welcome with 5× wagering if you clear it on bingo and 10× if you clear it on selected slots — and one welcome across brands on the same licence.

Casushi

Casushi

The sushi theming is decoration. Underneath sits a conventional UK multi-studio casino: Pragmatic Play and Evolution in live, a long slots list, Slingo and tables. Solaya Group Limited now holds the UK remote licence (account 100050) after the Dazzletag record was surrendered. The welcome page we read credits free spins on a named slot and states that spin winnings pay as cash, with no wagering on those winnings.

Admiral Casino

Greentube Alderney Limited — Novomatic’s UK remote vehicle — has run admiralcasino.co.uk under account 39050 since 2014. The library leans on Greentube and Novomatic catalogues (the Book of Ra family is not a cameo here) and adds third-party slots plus an Evolution live floor. A free-spins welcome is the usual shape; we list the type rather than a figure that the operator can change on a promotions page overnight.

QuinnBet

QuinnBet

QuinnBet, QuinnCasino and QuinnSports are trading names on one UKGC account, not three separate casinos. QuinnBet (Gibraltar) Limited (61011) covers remote casino and betting. The site still reads as an Irish-rooted bookmaker first: football, racing, then a casino tab. Official sports-welcome wording credits 50% of first-day net losses as a free bet up to £25, with a guarantee floor if you qualify; the casino path is a separate free-spins choice.

Questions

Five practical answers

01

Is Reel Borough House a casino or a regulator?

Neither. This is an independent, affiliate-funded comparison desk. We do not run games, take stakes, open accounts or move money. The name is a brand, not a civic office: we have no connection to any borough council, parliament or the UK Gambling Commission.

02

What does wagering on a welcome offer actually mean?

It is a playthrough multiple. If a £50 bonus sits at 10×, you need £500 of qualifying stakes before that bonus, or winnings tied to it, can leave the account. Live blackjack often contributes a few percent, or zero; a slot listed as 100% is doing the arithmetic. Expiry clocks run in parallel. The bonus terms page walks through the arithmetic without a specific operator’s current headline.

03

Do all five sites here hold a UK licence?

Each card names the Commission, the licensed domain, the licensee and the account number as of 18 August 2026. Casushi’s previous Dazzletag account (39358) was surrendered; the live remote licence we record is Solaya Group Limited, 100050. Treat our line as a starting point and open the public register yourself.

04

Can I take the sports welcome and the casino welcome?

On Hollywoodbets and QuinnBet, the published pattern is a fork: the first qualifying bet or slots stake spends the welcome. Happy Tiger’s match is a single offer across Happytiger ApS brands. Casushi and Admiral are casino-shaped. If the operator’s promotion page says “one welcome”, believe the page, not a comparison table.

05

Where do I go if play stops being recreational?

Set deposit, loss and time limits on the operator first. For a single self-exclusion that covers UK-licensed remote sites, use GAMSTOP. Talk to GamCare or start at GambleAware. We cannot intervene in an account; the operator and those services can. See how the tools work.
